The film, to be released in the UK this Friday, 15 April 2005, is driven by a marketing campaign featuring a website which includes information about the film (synopsis, crew, cast), downloads, movie clips, photographs and viral challenge at http://www.interpreterthemovie.com/game/. The website and a compelling online game for The Interpreter http://www.interpreterthemovie.com is being tracked by web analytics agency WebtraffIQ http://www.webtraffiq.com.
Marcos Richardson, European Director at WebtraffIQ explains, “WebtraffIQ is monitoring the performance of the website and also the visitor’s behaviour and how they interact with the site. The Interpreter, a film directed by Sydney Pollack stars Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn. It tells a story of political intrigue and deception that unfolds inside the United Nations, where a FBI agent (Penn) is assigned to protect an interpreter (Kidman) who overhears an assassination plot, and is the first film crew ever allowed into the United Nations building.
